RANGEFINDER ARTICLE
Rangefinder Magazine, the largest magazine for professional photographers in the USA has just released a 4 page profile on Philip and his Faces of Launceston project.
What is particularly pleasing is that the work that we do here in Launceston is recognised and appreciated around the world, and that even large markets like the USA can learn from the way we do things here in Tasmania.
PHILIP's talk at WPPI
This year I was asked to speak at the Wedding Portrait Photographers International ( WPPI ) Conference in Las Vegas This is one of the largest conferences in America, and it was a great honour to be asked, I spoke about my Faces of Launceston project and about how that has flowed onto my portrait work. Once that was over, Vicki and I took a bit of time off to travel around and make some pictures which I am planning to show later this year in an exhibition - we will keep you posted on that one!.
Outdoor studio
work has now been completed on our fantastic outdoor studio space. The massive rocks have been built into a great space for photography by Chris Calverley and we have been making some wonderful, natural portraits . Kids love them, and seem never to tire of bouncing from one rock to the next! We also have some quiet space where they can investigate the various textures of the rocks, and while this is happening, we are getting soft natural pictures that show the true character and personality of the children
