W2 Stolen Knife

A few years back we were burgled and along with some cameras and our entire security system recording box, I lost about a dozen knives including this one which I had just finished and was feeling very happy with. It was the first time I had used W2 steel and a clay coating to produce a hamon ( the patterns in the steel created by the different cooling rates during the quenching process due to the clay)

With a Box Elder Burl handle and stainless steel guard and bolster, this was probably the best knife I had made up to that point and it was the one that I was most upset about losing. I also have this worry that one day the Police will contact me to say that they found it sticking in some victim of crime. It has been long enough now for me to consider remaking the knife, I still have some of the W2 steel in the workshop and it would be nice to get it back even if I have to make it again.
