These giraffe bone scales are ethically sourced from South Africa and do not threaten the survival of any species. Tbhe give the knife a wonderful weight and feel . The knife is based on a design we call the spanish knife, based on a knife I bought in Toledo, Spain in the early 90’s and which I use in my kitchen to this day
